Privy Preceptorship

Where Classroom Knowledge Meets Hands-On Training!

Preceptorship: Defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) as: “a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting. Internships give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in professional fields they are considering for career paths; and give employers the opportunity to guide and evaluate talent.” In addition, the preceptorship is a semester (fall, spring, summer) in duration and is unpaid.

The purpose of this preceptorship:
Assist in molding the master’s and/or doctoral student in the ownership and practice as a nurse practitioner, practice in a psychiatric outpatient setting or establishing a micro-practice. The concept of experiential learning provides students with direct experience through which they can use analytical skills and reflection to apply new ideas gained from the experience to their classroom learning.

Selection as an preceptor:
Based on meeting the requirements listed below, as well as three rounds of interviews. The position is open three times a year (Spring, Summer, and Fall).

  • The second interview will be conducted with the CEO of Privy Oasis, LLC
